James M. Leahy Sr. (Jimmy) has lived in the Wexford area all of his life. After he graduated from North Allegheny High School, Jimmy's love for the restaurant industry took him to Johnson & Wales University of Culinary Arts where he graduated in 1975. During the last 40 years Jimmy has been part of the culinary team at numerous fine dining establishments including Chartiers Country Club and the LeMont Restaurant on Mount Washington in Pittsburgh. Jimmy's entrepreneurial spirit lead him to open Jimmy's Strip District Grille on February 1, 2005.
In his spare time, Jimmy is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He is currently a Member and has served 12 years on the Board of Directors of Millvale Sportsman's Club in Wexford, as well as a member of North Side Sportsmen's Club, Connequenessing Valley Bowman's Club, Endowment Member National Rifle Association, American Legion Post 862, Mars VFW Post 7505, Mars Volunteer Fire Department Station 42, North Pittsburgh Corvette Club and a Certified Pyrotechnics Guild International Display Fireworks Operator.
